Looks like a good feature. Are you guys focusing on invoicing or will there be an accounting angle too?
We have a renewed focus on keeping the core app dedicated to invoices and the things directly end up being on the invoices (e.g. time tracking items and reimbursable expenses). A full accounting package is probably overkill for most of our users. However, for the minority of our customers who need this, we can use our API to get hooks into packages such as QuickBooks. We will, in fact, be releasing a QuickBooks adapter in the next few weeks. It is actually done already, but we would like to send it to Intuit for certification prior to release.
Please don’t waist your expertise on developing an accounting component. That is the death nail of a great solution like SI. Let the teams of 100′s of programmers and accounting experts over at QB worry about that stuff.
@Crash: agreed. not on our radar. QB adapter is all we are doing. Not planning on building out the core application to have full on accounting functionality.
